RateGain Travel Technologies has named Shobana Kailash as its Chief Human Resources Officer. The appointment was announced on 24 August 2026, and she will be based in Noida, India.
Her remit
Kailash will lead RateGain's global people strategy, taking responsibility for talent, leadership development and organizational culture. She will work with the leadership team to build the capabilities and leadership the business needs for its next phase of international growth.
A central part of the role is making sure RateGain's culture and skills keep pace with its technology. The company says AI now runs through everything it builds and does: it has moved to agentic AI across its platform, is scaling in North America and Europe, and is integrating Sojern. As AI becomes part of its products, RateGain wants its employees to treat AI tools as second nature, and Kailash's mandate is to grow its people as fast as its technology.
Leadership comments
Founder and Managing Director Bhanu Chopra called it "a pivotal moment", noting that the company is scaling quickly and putting AI at the heart of what it builds and how it works, which makes people and culture more important than ever. He said Kailash has led diverse teams through similar growth at leading technology companies.
Chopra also thanked outgoing HR leader Sahil Sharma, who joined in 2016 when RateGain was still a young private company. Sharma built the people function from scratch and guided it through the 2021 public listing, several acquisitions and the company's growth into a global business.
Kailash said RateGain is "at an exciting inflection point" and that she was drawn by the chance to shape the people agenda of a global technology company positioned at the intersection of travel, data and AI, as it evolves into a connected travel-commerce platform alongside the Sojern integration.
