Karisma Hotels & Resorts is now live with Plusgrade, the ancillary revenue technology company, bringing Plusgrade's Hospitality Upsell capabilities to select properties in Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
What guests see
With the launch, guests booking at participating Karisma resorts can explore personalized upgrade offers and curated add-ons from the moment they make their reservation. Plusgrade says this gives travellers more ways to tailor their stay before they arrive, rather than leaving upgrade and extras decisions until check-in.
Why it matters for resorts
For resort operators, the period between booking and arrival is a valuable window to engage guests. Presenting relevant upgrades and add-ons early can help guests plan the stay they want, while giving the hotel an opportunity to grow revenue from inventory and services it already has. Plusgrade positions its hospitality tools as a way for leading resorts to grow both guest experience and revenue.
A notable resort partner
In its announcement on LinkedIn, Plusgrade described the partnership as bringing its technology to "one of the Caribbean and Mexican Riviera's leading resort collections." Karisma operates resort properties across Mexico and the Caribbean, markets where packages, room categories and on-property experiences play a large part in how guests choose and personalize their vacations.
Rollout scope
The launch covers select Karisma properties in the three countries named; Plusgrade did not list the individual resorts in its announcement or give details of specific offers. Further information on how resorts use Hospitality Upsell is available from Plusgrade.
The bigger picture
The deal reflects a wider trend of hotels and resorts adopting pre-arrival merchandising, using personalized offers to give guests more choice and control over their stay while creating incremental revenue for the property.
