Shiji has added Hotel Trader to Book&Pay, part of Shiji Horizon Distribution, as an international supply partner. Announced in Barcelona on 15 October 2026, the agreement brings hotel inventory from The Hotel Trader Exchange into Book&Pay's network of travel demand partners.

What changes for travel buyers

Book&Pay connects accommodation suppliers with leisure and corporate travel demand partners. Through the new link, buyers gain access to a growing portfolio of directly contracted hotels under one centralized commercial framework, without having to sign separate agreements with each supplier. Shiji says this widens inventory choice across international destinations while simplifying commercial relationships, transaction management, cross-border payments and invoicing through a single connection.

What changes for hotels

For properties connected to The Exchange, the tie-up opens additional routes to international demand, including markets in Asia-Pacific. Hotels can extend their B2B distribution through Book&Pay and distribute promotional offers, package rates and negotiated corporate rates.

The Exchange connects more than 20,000 hotels worldwide directly to their PMS or CRS, so rates, availability and inventory come from the hotel's own source of truth. Hotel Trader describes it as the first open hotel exchange built to give hoteliers strategic control over who they connect with.

Nick Beard, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at Hotel Trader, said distribution is increasingly data-driven but "data only creates value when it helps hotels make better-informed decisions". He explained that Hotel Trader pairs directly contracted inventory with intelligence drawn from billions of data points to help hotels protect rate integrity and see where their rooms are sold.

Natalie Kimball, Vice President, Strategic Account Management, Americas & EMEA at Shiji, said a single agreement with Book&Pay makes it easier for partners to reach a growing global network of supply and demand. Laura Lopez, Senior Director, Strategic Account, Horizon Distribution at Shiji, added that the addition creates new opportunities for hotels and travel buyers to connect more efficiently.
