After years of relying on manual Excel models and a stalled internal development project, RBH selected Juyo Analytics for both its intuitive visualization capabilities and its robust underlying data platform.
For large, multi-brand hotel management companies, commercial performance often depends on the one thing that is hardest to achieve, reliable, timely, unified data.
When a portfolio spans dozens of hotels, nine different PMS systems, multiple ownership structures, and a mix of branded and independent properties, teams can quickly become constrained by inconsistent information, manual processes, and siloed decision-making.
This was the reality RBH Hospitality Management confronted.
Over the past decade, RBH has managed more than 150 hotels for a broad range of investors, including institutional capital, private equity, family offices, and private owners. The organization is built for scale, with a fully centralized structure of 85 specialists across commercial, finance, procurement, IT, facilities management, legal, capital projects, and health & safety.
Yet one persistent gap limited their ability to make fast, confident commercial decisions, a unified view of PMS data across the estate.
Bridging that gap sparked a three-year journey that ultimately reshaped RBH’s workflows, forecasting capabilities, and portfolio-wide visibility.
Who RBH is: a third-party operator built for complexity
RBH operates strictly as a white-label management company. They do not own hotels. Instead, they manage properties on behalf of owners with diverse strategies and brand preferences.
This requires exceptional flexibility across:
-
branded and independent hotels
-
properties from limited service to luxury
-
partnerships with major global brands such as Hilton, IHG, Accor, Marriott International, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, and Best Western
-
a constantly evolving PMS landscape driven by brand requirements and migrations
As Finance Director Stuart Houston, who also oversees analytics and business systems, explains:
“Being a third-party operator means we inherit a lot of different technologies. At one point, we were operating across nine PMSs. Any solution we brought in had to be completely agnostic and work for the whole business.”
The challenge: a missing link in business intelligence
Before Juyo, RBH relied heavily on offline Excel models to analyze commercial performance.
While the company maintained a strong BI environment using IBM Cognos, incorporating management accounts, ReviewPro scores, STR/Lighthouse benchmarking, and procurement data via Procure Wizard, PMS commercial information remained outside the system.
This led to several problems.
Slow decision-making
Teams often had to contact hotels directly and wait hours or days for manually generated reports.
Anecdotal conversations
Without shared data, performance discussions relied on assumptions.
“Before Juyo, a lot of conversations were anecdotal. You’d hear, ‘it’s probably this segment’ or ‘likely this channel’. Now we can identify the source of a problem or success immediately.”
Stuart Houston
No real-time visibility
There was no instant view of segments, room types, channels, booking pace, or trends.
A stalled internal build
An attempt to create a bespoke system with an external partner ran for a year without delivering the required inputs, consuming resources with little return.
RBH’s former Head of Revenue Management first identified Juyo Analytics as a potential solution.
How RBH found Juyo Analytics
When Chris Martin introduced Juyo, the fit became clear quickly.
After reviewing several vendors, RBH concluded Juyo was the only platform offering:
-
an intuitive visual layer usable by non-experts
-
a data engine capable of feeding raw PMS information directly into Cognos
“The data platform was the biggest differentiator. It filled the missing link in our BI system and allowed us to bring PMS commercial data into the same place as everything else.”
Stuart Houston
Crucially, Juyo complemented rather than replaced Cognos.
The trial: one hotel that proved the model
RBH launched a pilot at the Crowne Plaza London Docklands, known for its complex business mix.
The objective was to test scalability, segmentation depth, integration reliability, and onboarding robustness.
The trial succeeded.
RBH expanded rapidly across Oracle OPERA, Guestline, Hilton OnQ, and Hilton PEP, with HotelKey and StayNTouch on the roadmap.
The solution: a unified commercial ecosystem
With Juyo in place, RBH unlocked three major capabilities.
Automated PMS data into Cognos
Manual Excel work disappeared. Standardized datasets became available each morning.
Instant portfolio visibility
Leadership can now drill into room performance, booking trends, channel mix, and pace immediately.
“The speed of turnaround is night and day. Information that used to take hours or days is now available instantly.”
Stuart Houston
Stronger communication
Data is shared daily across hotels, operations, finance, executives, and owners.
“It increases visibility across the business. Sometimes that’s a blessing and sometimes a curse. But the urban myths disappear.”
Stuart Houston
Outcomes: stronger performance and better forecasting
Once embedded, the benefits became measurable.
Improved RGI
Several hotels materially strengthened market share.
“Owners want better market share and more cash in the till. We’re seeing that return.”
Stuart Houston
Higher forecast accuracy
RBH’s internally built forecasting tools, powered by Juyo’s data, dramatically improved reliability.
“In my ten years at RBH, this is the biggest change to our systems and processes.”
Stuart Houston
Better resource allocation
Teams can focus on strategy instead of administration.
Faster, fact-based decisions
Data is available instantly.
High adoption
Ease of use drove daily engagement.
“If something is hard to access, people don’t adopt it. That’s where Juyo excels.”
Stuart Houston
What’s next for RBH
The operator is finalizing onboarding while exploring:
-
Meetings & Events / S&C data
-
F&B analytics
-
further Cognos enhancements using Juyo feeds
Weekly roadmap collaboration continues.
A partnership that accelerated innovation
By aligning a complex estate behind a single source of truth, RBH now operates with greater speed, accuracy, and transparency.
“Everyone is looking at the same information at the touch of a button, and that makes a real difference.”
Stuart Houston
From Juyo’s perspective, RBH’s scale helped fast-track platform maturity.
“RBH pushed us to refine the platform in ways that benefited all our customers. Their operational complexity and clarity of requirements helped us elevate Juyo faster and with greater precision.”
